My skin is happy.
My skin has started on the journey to good skin for life.
28 days.
What a Transformation.
Thank you Your Good Skin.
Lets rewind slightly to day 21 and let me tell you about the last week. Theres not much to say to be honest.
My skin is just happy. The last week has just cemented the changes that has occurred the last three weeks using this skin care range.
This was my skin on 26th October (Technically day 29 I know.. but i finished work late on 25th so there was no time for a photo. It was straight to bed!)
This photo, was in the morning, post facial cleansing and moisturising. No Make up, No filter. Just my skin. I don't know if you can see what I can see. But i can definitely tell you my skin is radiant. It looks and feels hydrated. My skin is soft to touch.
My skin issues at the start of this challenge
1. Dry Skin Patches - Gone. None existent. I can't spot any at all. My skin feels hydrated in the morning and throughout the day.
2. Rough Skin - Now i didn't mention this in my initial post as i didn't think it was an issue. The skin on my face wasn't overly smooth, but i thought it was fine. Oh was I wrong. I now know what silky smooth skin feels like, because I have it.
3. Radiance - My Skin was dry and dull, there was no glow. I now have a natural glow, my skin is radiant. I got my glow on! (Not pregnant before it is mentioned - I know I am a newly wed but this glow is definitely down to the skincare range!)
4. Skin Tone evenness - I had prominent marks and hyper pigmentation on my face, They had been fading with the use of Bio-oil and Coconut Oil and then my skin plateaued as I wasn't taking care of my skin to be honest. My marks have started to fade again, and my skin overall seems to have evened it self out.
5. Oiliness - I don't think this has been resolved from my 28 day skin care challenge. But it has definitely improved. My T-zone likes to shine bright, and I think it needs some targeted products to finally get control over that.
Before you ask... No there won't be a before and after pic. I know some will think that this is because, there has not been any or this many changes or I have lied etc. I have no reason to.. this is not sponsored or anything like that.
No before picture... is the exact reason why I am doing this in the first place. My skin was in need of help, photos without make-up prior to this were few and far between. Make-up was becoming more of an everyday thing, which is just not me. I wanted an intervention and the timing of this skin care range was just right. Why a review? Well I want give people like me, in my situation a honest review so they can have an idea of wether this range can help them!
Final Thoughts.
I was asked by my cousin-in-law what products I have been using following an Instagram post 6 days ago and what I would recommend.
If I had to recommend just one product from the range to buy. It will have to be the 'hero product' the Balancing skin Concentrate
I truly believe this product is the reason behind my skin care changes. Don't get me wrong, this doesn't belittle the other products I purchased. They have done what they have said they would do on the tin.
The gel cleanser has been what I have expected. It went onto my skin smoothly and after use my skin has felt very clean. It wasn't harsh on the skin and the gel to oil formula is a winning one for me with my dry skin.
The day and night cream, were both lightweight, yet moisturising. They both kept my skin hydrated throughout the day and night. There was no reaction to the ingredients, and in the end I didn't feel I needed to rehydrate my skin during the day.
As mentioned in previous posts, the toner did not get used. And the facial Brush was definitely a No from me. It started of Soft and became harsh on the skin, mainly due to not drying in time for the next use.
That all being said, If I am honest there was nothing over revolutionary about these products. This was no cleansing or hydration that I have not got in other products. I do however think the combination of ingredients are well thought out and contribute to overall good skin health. However, The Balancing Skin Concentrate, has been revolutionary. It has nourished my skin, to feel soft and smooth. My skin is radiant and tone is even. I feel like I look like the natural, younger me, before make up and tiredness and age got a look in and attacked my skin.
I think that is it! Its that natural balance that this product so cleverly restores, that makes the skin happy. Because of this the results are long lasting and produces results for good skin.
This product is incredible. This 28 days has been an investment into my Skin Care and I think I need to continue this to continue getting the results I am so overly happy with.
It is pay day today! And I am going to purchase another Balancing Skin Concentrate! I think this product will become a staple in my skin care routine. I may also purchase some of the Anti-Shine Lotion and see if that makes a difference to my Oiliness.
Overall, A great skin care range at a reasonable price. All the products do what you would expect, but the balancing skin concentrate could stand alone as revolutionary Skin Care product.

Your good Skin.
This is now MY good skin.
YAAAAAAS! . Hallelujah for this Skin range.
So I am into the second week of my 28 day Skin Care Challenge, and I am so happy with the results so far. Skin feels so smooth its unreal.
I woke up Sunday 8th October ( Day 11), I was off work, which was a rare Sunday off in a long time so me and the husband had a bit of a lie in. When I eventually got out of Bed. Went into the Bathroom, Looked up at the mirror, and my skin looked the best it has ever done in the morning. To put it into context a little more. I was on a late shift at work the night before, I was meant to finish at 2am, but was 30mins late, so i got home about 3am. Surprisingly, to myself more than anyone else, I still cleansed my face - and not just a facial wipe!!. Anyway, as you can imagine after a 12.5 hour shift, my cleanse wasn't as thorough as I would like or it should be! So you can understand my surprise at how good my skin looked.
I am in no doubt, that my skin was just representing the work of this skin care range over the last 10 days. That being said there was still 18 days left of my skin care challenge. How much better could it get?
My dry patches were near enough non existent. I still had one stubborn patch above my left eye, but that was it.
One of the tests for dry skin is how the skin reacts post water. My face after being washed with water and dried, would feel as dry as a desert. I would have that feeling of a face mask that has dried and ready to be washed off. As the dry patch gave slowly disappeared so has this thirst quenching feeling. My skin is feeling more and more hydrated.
Talking Cleansing. The Facial Brush is out. If you read my last skin care challenge post you would have seen that the brush was feeling more and more harsh on my skin, and was constantly wet. To cut a long story short, I left it for two days after a week of use, and It still didn't dry well and it was still very harsh on my skin.
Side note: I would like a cleansing brush in the future and I have been eyeing up the No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Brush does anyone use this? or Any other cleansing brush? Any recommendations? Please leave a comment and let me know.
Glow. Glow. Glow
The Balancing Skin concentrate promised to target radiance, and let me tell you. My skin is glowing. Radiance on point.
Yaaaaas! I have got my natural highlighter back!
This is Day 14. Half way through this Skin Care Challenge. I was promised: 'Visibly healthier skin in just 28 days" and 14 days in I can see the changes. Photos don't do it justice. I would let you come and touch my face to prove it.. but that might be a bit weird. My skin texture has gone from dry and thirsty, to hydrated and silky. There is a natural glow. Throws away expensive highlighters!
Oiliness was another target for the Balancing Skin concentrate and this skin care range. Honestly. I am not sure yet whether this product has worked for me in terms of oiliness. I have always got and still get Oiliness on My T-Zone. I have to say the Oiliness has decreased, especially on the No Make-up days, I am visibly noticing less oiliness. I was hopeful that the improvement of my skin overall will help control my oily T-zone, but we will see. Still Over a week to go. I may need something else to help with this. I am eager to try the Anti-shine base lotion, and the immediate shine relief from this range. I have tried so many things for T-zone oiliness/shininess. Anyone tried these? Any other recommendations?
Talking Make-up. Make up goes on and stays on so much better this last week. I am not sure wether it is just my better skin or the balancing Skin Concentrate but something is working like an expensive primer and I am loving it.! Throws away expensive primers! To be fair, I believe the application of make-up is better due to the silkiness and smoothness of my skin and that is definitely due to the Balancing Skin Concentrate. Any one else experience this?
I don't now what it is in this product, but boots you need to bottle it and call it a primer.
Pore Minimizing Tonic Update: Its still pretty much full. I don't know what it is with toners, but I always forget to use it. I can't really review this product, as stated before I only brought it because I thought I had to. I don't think I will use it to be fair over the last week, so with that, We will leave that product at that. I don't think it would be fair for me to pass judgment on a product I basically have not used.
Maybe it would have had an impact on my skin care... who knows?
Irritated eyes update: My dry eyes have got so much better thanks to opticrom eye drops. That stuff is such a lifesaver for me. Due to the intense irritation I can get, I am still avoiding a large area around my eyes with the balancing skin concentrate and the day cream. Surprisingly the night cream, If i forget because I am tired and get too close is absolutely fine. I think the irritation is more down to my dry eye, than ingredients in the products, because as mentioned before I can have sensitive skin and these products have been absolutely fine. However, as I said I am still being cautious, due to just being scared.
Products update:
The night cream is getting low on product, but have more day cream left... No surprise there ey!? (I will not rant about sizes in another post. I promise!) Your girl has been loving the balancing skin concentrate so much that her 'two pumps' as instructed have maybe been two BIG pumps these last two weeks, so I could run out... there is a day gauge on the side which you can see product, and I seem to be on track... so we shall see... !
3 weeks is such a little time in reality, but in terms of my skin so much change has happened. 7 days left to see what this skin care range can do...
Stay tuned for the last week and my final thoughts.

So my last post here was more of an introduction to my curent skin care 'state' and the products I purchased. I also touched on the packaging.
However, I actually didn't realise something when I purchased my products, but when I did on day one, I was ranting away to myself. This seems to happen a lot with products and if I am honest with 1000s of WOMEN co-creating this range I would expect better. I want answers.... or rationale at least....
My issue.
This....
Spotted it yet? No. Have a closer look. Do you see it now?
Yes, thats right. Two different sizes. 50ml and 75ml.
I thought the 1000s of women will have my back... Ladies did you know about this?
Now, I wouldn't mind if you were instructed to use less of the night cream, than the day cream, but that is not the case. So I know I will run out of night cream before day cream and.... anyway you get the point. I think they should be the same size. End of.
Back to the use of the products.
The gel cleanser was just what I expected. Gel to oil when applied, then washes off like milk. It took off most, if not all my makeup including eye make up. Some mascaras it takes another application to remove, but this is normally the case for most gel cleansers. I will probably buy the miscelar cleanser and use in conjuction with the gel cleanser to remove the eye makeup. Watch this space! Overall my skin feels nice and clean after using the cleanser, the oil keeps my skin from getting too dry due to the water. Happy with this product. Basically does what it says on the tin!
Talking cleansing, I also purchased the softening facial brush. First few days I used this and it worked well. It does say in the instructions about letting the brush dry, however, I found that getting the brush to dry fully was near impossible. I also found that towards the end of the 7 days the brush felt very hard against my skin. I assume this was because it was never really fully dry, but I just couldn't get it dry. Any else got this brush? Any tips? End of day 7 and I am now not using the brush, I might try it again once it's dry, but at the moment, it's not reliable to use everyday.
The day and night creams have been great. My skin has felt hydrated for most of the day. Towards the evening I have felt my skin slightly dry, but I have dry skin and I am hoping these products will help solve that. In the morning however, after a nights sleep, I wake up feeling my skin is still hydrated. Before using this range, I would wake up with dry patches around my face, mainly on my forehead and around my eyes and my jaw. 7 days in...yes only 7 days in and I have just a few on my forehead. INCREDIBLE.
The hero product in this skin care range is just that: my skin hero. After the first application on day 1, my skin straight away felt silkier. After seven days of use, my skin looked visibly brighter, and felt so soft. I am impressed and shocked I noticed changes so quickly. It absorbs smoothly into my skin.
As the most expensive product, I had high expectations, and I wasn't disappointed. Only two pumps are needed day and night for this product. I am happy about that as it is only 30ml. But this is enough. The product was light yet moisturising. So far, if I could only repeat buy one product, this would be it.
Perfume and sensitive skin?
I had childhood eczema, and every now and then I can get a flare up on my face, arms or legs. Normally just small patches. Due to this, I wouldn't say I have overly sensative skin like some people, but I can react to certain products. Skin wise, 7 days in and I am so far so good. No problems to report.
The scent of all the products are lovely. Luxurious and delicate. I have noticed with the day cream and the balancing skin concentrate that after application, my eyes can become very irritated. Now I can't solely put this down to the products, as I have been suffering with dry eye for a while, so this could be coincidental. I have noticed however, it is much better when I make sure I avoid my eye area and ensure fully washed hands. So I can't put two and two together yet, but I will keep an eye (😂) on this and update you in due course.
Day 8 tomorrow, and I am expecting things can only get better. I am impressed with the changes I have noticed so far, I didn't expect to have much to say in this first review.. so happy days!
If you have been using any of these products, do let me know how you are getting on!

My 28 Day Skin Care Challenge
I was doing so well pre wedding with my skin care routine. Cleansing, toning, moisturising, exfoiliating, you name it, I was doing it. I also bought some benotinite clay and made my own clay mask. Yes, check me out, and this worked a treat (will add the recipe and links to prducts below).
However, post wedding laziness (this is a thing!) crept in. Followed by an even lazier hooneymon, where my priorities were influenced by the heated pool, the ridiculous amounts of food, 35 degree heat and little else.
So as you can imagine, after lots of chlorine from my face emersed in water, lots and lots of sun, and copius amounts of tiramisu (and every other kind of Italian dessert) my face was screaming for a skin care intervention.
I was determined to get on top of my skin care routine, back to the pre wedding radiance, evenness and moisture I once had. But finding the motivation was hard. Post wedding laziness was rearing its unhelpful head once again and I wasn't helping myself really to overcome this skin care crisis!! Then I came across an article about Your Good Skin. And. Oh HELLO motivation!
So Boots, the powerhouse behind the cult brand No7 were doing it again, getting back in the game.... well, let's be honest, they were never out the game to be fair. No7 was, and still is, one of the top go to brands for skincare. However, they were coming for us again, and they were launching a new skincare range. A skincare range with a diference. This range was co-created with 1000s of women and leading dermatologists. It wasn't designed to be a fix for a problem, but designed to not make the problem happen in the first place.
It's motto: Good Skin for Life.
My thoughts... Where do I sign up?
I am fed up of having good skin, then bad skin, then good skin. Good skin for life sounded right up my street. And it didn't seem like just a tag line. The ingredients, the research, the 1000s of real women and the clinical expertise.
On top of that the 'hero' product screamed out to me.
Its name: Balancing Skin Concentrate.
This product, used twice daily after cleansing, is to deliver "visibly healthier skin in just 28 days".
Targeting radiance, oiliness, skin tone evenness, moisture levels and skin texture. I mean. HELLO! All my isues, right there!
Just 28 days did I hear you say? Does that need testing? Is that a Challenge?
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. (Ooh, I love a good challenge...)
On launch day, September 27th (coinciding with my payday... oh Boots, you genius you!) I went into my local Boots and there it was in all its golden glory. Your Good Skin.
On that note, let us just appreciate the packaging for a small second. Simple yet luxurious at the same time. The information is clear to read, even though there is a lot of it. There's info about skin type, ingredients, its aims and purpose on the box, but also the packaging. My pet hate with so many products is that the useful information that you need or want to look back or refer to is on the box, and not the product. And I don't know about you, but I don't want to keep boxes, faffing about taking things out of boxes and putting them back in. This information needs to be on the product. Rant over! But bravo Boots, info on the product too. Love it. Another great touch is the photo and quote from women all around the world (I am assuming part of the women in the community that co-created the products) on how they have found the product. I liked this and it works as a gentle reminder of how the product was co-created with real women. And finally, colour choice, Gold. (Sings: You are Gold! Gold!). A classic colour that screams luxury, glamour, silkiness. Great choice Boots.
So this is what I picked up.
1. Comforting Gel Cleanser - I umm'd and arr'd for a very long time over which cleanser to get, there were sooo many options. Which I think is brilliant, and for me seems an "expert" thing to do. Not every type of cleanser works for every skin type and sensitivity, so having so many options will be great for so many people. On a side note, I did see facial wipes. I wasn't suprised as most skin care ranges have them as it appeals to so many, me included. I have had a variety of wipes in my routine for years, not used solely I must say, but the jury is still out for me on what I really think and believe. What do you think? Anyway, I digress.
It came down to the Soothing Miscellar Cleanser and the Comforting Gel Cleanser. I went for this one because I have got on really well in the past with gel to oil cleansers. I find these cleansers not too drying for my skin. It is worth noting that there is also a hot cloth cleanser in the range, which I did have a look at, but I mean me and Liz Earle's hot cloth cleanser got a thing....and I'm sorry but l just couldn't.
2. Softening Facial Brush - I have been looking at getting one of those electronic, vibrating, moving, facial brush massager thingys (Yes, thats the technical name for them..in MY head) for sometime. I actualy saw the No7 one on offer a month or so ago in Boots but I just never got round to getting one.. (just general laziness this time, can't even blame the wedding). So I bought this to see what it's like, and whether my skin will be happy with something like this...watch this space.
3. Pore Minimizing Tonic - Honestly, I got this product as I felt like it was the rule to have a toner in your skin care routine. It's the one thing, if time is restricted or I am being lazy (is this a recurring theme?!), that I can easily miss out. I have read all the skin care regime rules, but in my experience, using or not using a toner hasn't made much of a difference. Well, we shall see how I go with this one.
4. Balancing Skin Concentrate - This is the hero product. The one item that if you didn't buy anything else, you would be recommended to buy this. This is the product I was the most excited to buy and super excited to try.
5. SPF 30 Anti-Oxidant Day Cream - This ticked all the boxes I would want for a day cream. 1. Lightweight. I don’t want to cleanse and then feel like I am clogging my face up. 2. SPF protection. Pretty self explanatory. 3. Provides 24hr hydration - THIS. Although I could light a dark tunnel with the oil shine on my t-zone. Dry Skin is my issue everywhere else.
6. ProVitamin Overnight Cream - Again, lightweight, 24hr hydration and said to rebalance your skin whilst you sleep.
And there we have it. My 6 products to give me good skin for life. Here's hoping.
It is worth noting that there are products in this range targeting specific issues. There are products for hydrating, blemish clearing and matifying.
I mentioned my shiny T-zone issues, and the range has an Anti-Shine Base Lotion, used after the Balancing Skin Concentrate, but before your day cream and the Immediate Shine relief which is an immediate shine fix that can be used on the go and on top of make-up. I definitely want to try these, but a lot of these issues (dryness, blemishes and oiliness) stem from bad skin care. From experience, I have found that when I have had a good skin care routine, with good skin care products, I have not had these issues.
So here it goes.
Starting 28th September, for the next 28 days, I shall use my new products, as per instructions and put their claims to the test... I will update you on my progress every 7 days, and give you my honest opinions on the products.
My 28 day skin care challenge begins...

Bentonite Clay Mask recipe
1 Tablespoon Bentonite Clay (I use this one here)
1 Tablespoon water or Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV works great for oily skin)
Mix together in a non metalic bowl (important its not metal) to form a paste like consistency add more liquid if too thick or you want a thinner mask.
Massage onto skin in a circular motion, covering face, avoiding eyes and lips.
Leave on skin for 15-20mins or until it feels dry and tightens.
Rinse off with warm water.
